Under the Bridge headed back up to the top. This is the room that the suspension cables that hold the bridge up is anchored into the concrete. No pics of that because it is national security.
Here is the ocean liner coming through the locks. It came it at 21 feet down inside the locks. It floated out at 52 feet up. So cool!!
This is at the top of the International Bridge with the Soo Locks in the background. The lock on the far right is the MacArthur Lock and was the first one built during WW II. The drop between the lakes is 21 or 23 feet, thus the reason for the lock to lower/higher the ships coming across from ocean to ocean. Just such a neat bit of American history that is being left out these days. They are actually on HIGH terrorist alert since 9/11. If anything happened with the locks there would be NO TRADE for anyone!!
